An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) to join the Wigan Talking Therapies team on a permanent basis.

As a PWP, you will play a vital role in providing evidence-based, low-intensity psychological interventions to people experiencing common mental health difficulties. Main duties of the job

The post holder will work within Wigan Talking Therapies to deliver evidence-based, low-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) interventions to individuals experiencing common mental health difficulties such as anxiety and depression.

As part of our dedicated and experienced team, you will receive close support from the management team and regular guidance from Senior PWPs to ensure high-quality clinical practice and professional growth.

You will be employed by the Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, benefiting from the resources and stability of a large, well-established organisation, while also being embedded in a local, integrated network of mental health and wellbeing services across Wigan. This provides the opportunity to make a meaningful difference within the community while developing your skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

  • Educated to degree standard in a subject enabling the post holder to demonstrate psychological mindedness, e.g. psychology, social sciences or health. Recognized PWP qualification, e.g. Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced Practice Interventions for Mental Health (APIMH) or equivalent Accredited with BABCP/BPS

Desirable

  • Diploma or Masters in APIMH or equivalent.

Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of competent delivery of low intensity CBT for Common Mental Health Disorders Worked in a service where agreed targets in place and has demonstrated good clinical outcomes

Desirable

  • Experience of delivering groups for Common Mental Health Disorders Evidence of engaging groups traditionally underrepresented in IAPT services
