Location: South Coast (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: 72,999- 77,184 per annum
Contract: Permanent Full Time Flexible Working Considered

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Educational Psychologist to join and lead a well-established and ambitious Educational Psychology Service within a forward-thinking local authority on the South Coast.

As Principal Educational Psychologist, you will provide strategic, professional and operational leadership to an established Educational Psychology Service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality statutory and traded services while promoting inclusive practice and positive outcomes.
You will have the opportunity to shape service development, support the growth of the team, influence SEND strategy and work collaboratively with schools, families and partner agencies.
The Role

  • Provide professional leadership and strategic direction to the Educational Psychology Service.
  • Lead, support and develop a team of Educational Psychologists and Senior Educational Psychologists through supervision, coaching and professional development.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality consultation, assessment, intervention, training and psychological advice.
  • Quality assure Educational Psychology practice to ensure statutory requirements and professional standards are consistently met.
  • Undertake complex casework, including consultation, assessment and intervention where required.
  • Develop and deliver training and support opportunities for schools and education settings to strengthen inclusive practice.
  • Contribute to SEND strategy, service planning and policy development across Children's Services.
  • Promote effective partnership working with education, health, social care and other agencies.
  • Support innovation and continuous improvement across the service.



About You

  • HCPC registered Educational Psychologist
  • Significant experience delivering Educational Psychology services within a local authority or equivalent setting.
  • Experience of supervising, mentoring or leading Educational Psychologists, or be a confident Senior Educational Psychologist looking to progress into your first Principal role.
  • Strong knowledge of current psychological approaches, SEND practice and legislation relating to children and young people.
  • The ability to inspire, motivate and develop others.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • A commitment to inclusive practice and evidence-based approaches.
