Job summary
The job includes contributing to the systematic provision of highly specialised individual and group psychological therapy for mood, anxiety, personality disorders, and complex traumas in adults in the Southwark community.Primary models used are CBT for complex traumas, EMDR, and Schema-informed Therapies. The psychology pathway works in parallel with other psychotherapists who are registered as Cognitive Analytical Therapists, Psychoanalytic Therapists and Family Therapists. Candidate will provide assessments and therapies for clients as well as will have a leading role in providing formulation, consultation, and guidance to non-psychological colleagues in MDT about psychological referral processes.
Main duties of the job
To provide specialist psychological interventions for adult clients in a community mental health service with complex traumas and personality disorders, including specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes.
To contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.
To provide clinical consultations and formulations to non-psychological MDT.
To promote service evaluation, audit and research, as appropriate.
To take a lead role as in a multidisciplinary team service, supporting the coordination of consultation, formulation, and referral pathways.
To work as an autonomous professional within registration body guidelines and codes of conduct, and guided by the policies and procedures of the service, taking responsibility for own work including treatment and discharge decisions with support of clinical supervisor
To be active in the provision of staff support within their area, including but not limited to Critical Incident Staff Support and Reflect-Support-Resolve.
To participate, as a recipient, in staff support work when appropriate.
