The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at the University of Liverpool is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Associate in clinical forensic psychology to work on a project supported by funds from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). The project aims to examine emotion processing and emotion regulation in people with convictions for sexual and violent offences. The project will take a multi-method approach using methods in experimental psychology and psychophysiology.
You will play a key role in designing experimental paradigms for the collection of behavioural and pupillometry data. The ideal candidate will have experience of experiment design in EyeLink, and/or collecting eye tracking and pupillometry data. You will also be responsible for liaising with prison sites, recruitment and data collection, and complex data analysis.
You should have a PhD (or near to completion) and an Undergraduate degree in psychology or a relevant discipline.
You will have direct contact with people in prisons for serious sexual and violent offences and you will need to be vetted by His Majesty¿s Prison and Probation Service before gaining access to prison sites.
The post is available full-time for 36 months.
If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
