
Occupational Health Technician Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Health Technician Manager
Working closely with your regional Team Leaders, and other associated clinicians and client services colleagues to ensure the delivery of Safe, Effective, and Quality Occupational Health services. Ensure OH Screening OHTs are confident, competent and fully utilised to maximise revenue and support in delivering the Business Plan., through collaboration with the OHT Team Leaders, to promote continuous improvement within their teams regarding audit feedback and engagement with quality service delivery.
Traveling as part of the role to attend meetings, provide support and training, as well as cover annual leave and any sickness absence is necessary however PAM will always look to minimise this.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Maintaining a positive customer service experience, and the quality of the delivery of Occupational Health Services within the full Occupational Health Technician team.
Appropriate clinical supervision (in accordance with/within the confines of any delegated authority from a Registered Healthcare Professional) of their regional Occupational Health Technician team.
Increasing the business quality through effective relationship building with employees & managers.
Ensure that OHT resources are utilised (within the remit of role) to maximise revenue and productivity within the Technician team (maximising billable hours for each team's contracted working days), by working alongside the Utilisation Manager; provide pastoral care/line management and clinical support to OHT Team (inc. Training and advice).
Ensure (as appropriate) that all aspects of occupational health screening activity are carried out by the Technician team in line with client standards and requirements and deliver the highest clinical and professional standards, including drug and alcohol testing.
Ensure accurate claims (Expenses and/or Time (overtime/enhancements)) are submitted by the 5th of the month following the occurrence (own and each team Leader/team member) and processed by the 12th of the month (checking with HoOHS/COM regarding any potentially questionable/disputable claims).
Minimising sick leave (where possible/appropriate) (own, each team leader and their team members)
Monitoring and promoting OHT team morale and staff retention.
Develop a considered contingency/succession plan for OHT team management.
Facilitate the OHT teams achieving 100% of cases scoring over 80% in audit (each team leader and their team members), attending and working with the clinical auditors.
To complete SF018s raised by the team, escalating any clinical operations ones to the HoOHS/COM.
Ensure all training is conducted, documented and book outstanding training for the coming year, working alongside PAM Academy to achieve this. Identify weak areas of learning in the team and plan strategies with HoOHS/COM. to implement this in a cost-effective manner.
Ensure all annual leave is spread evenly throughout the year, planned in advance to reduce impact on clinic.
Ensure all equipment is within calibration dates and fit for purpose, to work alongside the Client Services Manager to ensure all equipment calibrations are booked, reducing clinic impact, and in a cost-effective manner.
Increase individual's confidence in their roles, taking ownership of their activities/roles and engaging with the business without unnecessary contact by performing competency checks.
Conduct regular 1 to 1’s and HPP reviews are conducted and documented.
Ensure KPI’s and SLA are met.
Keep working practices in line with company accreditations including ISO 9001, 27001, SEQOHS, RISQS and IIP.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Have experience of working with an Occupational Health role, preferably in a senior technician position/Team Leader or above.
Effective communicator with strong listening and empathetic skills as well as the ability to influence and engage with others.
Have experience in dealing with complex cases.
Effective Report Writing Skills.
Highly organised and process-driven individual with the ability to work to deadlines and effectively prioritise.
Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to liaise with other departments and colleagues to achieve results.
Competent at managing client communication.
Results orientated and customer focused.
IT Literacy.

Salary range
- £36,000 - £38,000 per year
