Position Overview:The School Psychologist plays a key role in promoting students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral well-being. Through psycho-educational assessment, consultation, and collaboration, the School Psychologist supports the success of all learners within ISB’s inclusive, research-driven, and child-centered model.As a core member of the Student Support Team, this role partners closely with families, educators, counselors, and administrators to develop and sustain a continuum of supports aligned with ISB’s mission and learner attributes. The School Psychologist is also an integral part of the school’s crisis response and child protection teams.
Educators at ISB:
  • Provide meaningful, intentional learning opportunities aligned with the practices, standards, benchmarks, and learning outcomes of the ISB curriculum, along with its Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Community of Practice
  • Actively participate in collaborative team meetings with a growth mindset and focus on improving learning for all students
  • Partner with counselors, administration, and other staff to ensure care and support for the social, emotional and learning success of students
  • Engage in professional development to ensure research-supported practices in the instruction and care of children are used at ISB
  • Communicate directly and collaboratively with parents or guardians to positively improve student learning and/or well-being
  • Positively contribute to school culture through positivity, care for others, and shared sense of purpose and community
  • Maintain a mindset of high expectations facilitated through systems of high support

Other Duties:
  • Support student participation and connection through sponsorship of a student club or non-stipended extracurricular activity
  • Administer, score, and interpret psycho-educational, cognitive, and social-emotional assessments; prepare clear, actionable reports for families and service providers.
  • Develop and monitor Behavior Support Plans and Accommodation Plans in collaboration with teachers, counselors, and families.
  • Provide short-term individual or small group counseling to foster students’ self-management, social intelligence, and resilience.
  • Participate actively and proactively in Student Support Team meetings.
  • Provide consultation and coaching to teachers and counselors to strengthen classroom practices and student well-being.
  • Partner with parents, external professionals, and local community resources to ensure cohesive, wraparound support for students.
  • Support the school’s crisis prevention and response efforts, offering expertise in psychological first aid and recovery.
  • Contribute to ISB’s safeguarding and child protection efforts through education, prevention, and response, embodying the school’s value of Care.
  • Facilitate professional learning for faculty and staff on topics related to student mental health, assessment, and intervention.
