Tezlom, a successful Agency with a decade of experience in Health and Social Care sector, is looking to recruit Support Workers to support for anxiety disorders, depression, panic disorders, alcohol dependency, drug misuse
This role involves working in a residential care home setting, often requiring shift work, including weekends, nights, and public holidays to provide 24-hour care
Main Duties & Responsibilities Mental Health Support Worker
- Implementing individualized care plans and providing one-to-one emotional support and reassurance to residents.
- Helping with personal care (washing/dressing), nutrition, and managing daily tasks.
- Observing behavioral changes, tracking mental/physical health improvements, and maintaining accurate records.
- Identifying potential risks and ensuring a safe, secure, and supportive environment.
- Encouraging independence, supporting engagement in social activities, and assisting with community visits.
- Assisting with medication routines where trained and authorized.
- Working with nurses, families, and professionals to provide consistent care
Skills and Experience Required
- Strong listening skills and compassion for residents facing mental health challenges.
- 6-12 months experienced required working with mental health needs
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and professional colleagues.
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors in a calm manner.
- While experience is valued, common requirements include care certificates, NVQs in health and social care, or willingness to work toward them
- Enhanced DBS check and right to work in UK
