Mental Health Assistant - Slough

We are currently recruiting for a Mental Health Assistant to join a specialist school in Slough that caters to children with a range of complex learning difficulties, including autism, global developmental delay, and communication needs. As a Mental Health Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping children access learning, manage their emotions, and build confidence in a safe and structured environment.
Your Role as a Mental Health Assistant:
Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex learning disabilities
Assist in delivering individualised learning and behaviour plans
Promote emotional wellbeing and independence through daily interactions
Support non-verbal communication and sensory regulation strategies
What We're Looking For:
A degree in Psychology, Counselling, Education, or related experience
A strong interest in supporting children with additional needs
Adaptability, resilience, and a proactive attitude
Experience with autism, non-verbal communication, or sensory needs is desirable but not essential

Salary range
- GPB 85 - GPB 105
