POSITION: SCHOOL COUNSELLOR

Highgate International School Thailand will open in August 2026. A premium international school located in the beautiful province of Chonburi, it will cater for students between the ages of 2 and 18.

Operated in partnership with Siam Motors Group and Highgate School, London, staff will enjoy access to a wide range of world-class facilities, to include a full-sized FIFA approved football pitch, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a 450-seater auditorium, a black-box theatre, a STEM building and a Library and Digital Media Centre. They will draw upon a rich academic heritage spanning 460 years.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The School Counsellor will:

• Provide a wide range of tailored counselling services for students, student groups and the families of students assigned to Pre-Prep and Junior School classes
• Plan, implement and review preventative and responsive programmes connected to the health and wellbeing of the student population
• Foster curiosity, rigour, engagement, enthusiasm, community and kindness among the student population
• Develop a close network of supportive relationships with external service providers
• Act as a primary member of the school safeguarding team
• Maintain, manage and review confidential records
• Work in accordance with school policy and in the wider interests of the school
• Contribute positively to a school culture founded upon the considered maintenance of high expectations
• Communicate effectively with members of the wider school community
• Attend regular meetings and support the safe running of the school campus

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
The School Counsellor will:

• Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in counselling, psychology, social work or a closely related field
• Have a minimum of three years of post-qualification experience of working with children, ideally in a school setting
• Demonstrate an exceptional knowledge of childhood development
• Have experience of supporting the development of young people who hold English as an additional language
