
Health and Wellbeing Worker
Job summary
An exciting opportunity have arisen on Shakespeare inpatient ward at the Harbour, for the role of Health and Wellbeing worker.
This role is perfect for outgoing, highly motivated and creative individuals, who want to enhance service users inpatient experience through activity.
The right candidates will be able to work with a degree of autonomy, whilst under the guidance of the occupational therapy team and the ward leadership teams, to delivery high quality activities that meet the needs of the service users.
Interests in fitness and knowledge around healthy lifestyles are essential, as are a willingness to role model to peers in the clinical environments around positive engagement on the ward in relation to alleviating boredom, providing meaningful activity and building therapeutic relationships
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to provide healthy lifestyle interventions with service users, and will be expected to lead on delivering high quality meaningful activities.
As such a motivated individual with a creative streak is required. You will be expected to be part of a health and wellbeing team that provides 7 day activity provision, and as such will be required to work weekends on a shift pattern. You will also be required to be available to work between the hours of 08:00 and 20:00, dependent on service need.
These posts are full time, with no current opportunity for part time hours.
You will be a role model to peers, with excellent interpersonal skills, and able to build relationships with service users who are going through challenging times in their lives.
There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will be part of ward meetings, will feed into ward governance meetings, and will be confident in documenting on electronic records.
