The Opportunity Are you a compassionate therapist looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people?This is an opportunity to join a values-driven clinical team that supports children and young people in residential care. In this rewarding role, you'll deliver both direct and indirect therapeutic interventions, while collaborating with care teams to help embed trauma-informed, child-centred practices.You'll play a key role in ensuring the emotional and psychological needs of young people are understood and supported - all within a multidisciplinary, connected, and supportive environment.About YouEssential:
  • A recognised and accredited qualification in your therapeutic field (e.g. Master's in Art Therapy)
  • Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. HCPC, UKCP, BACP)
Desirable:
  • Experience working as a qualified practitioner (ideally 1+ year post-qualification)
  • Experience supporting children with care experience and/or working as part of a multidisciplinary team
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Work:
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and young people
  • Offer specialist consultation and guidance to local and regional teams
  • Contribute to clinical assessments, formulations, and care planning
  • Apply a consistent therapeutic model across services
  • Share therapeutic insights on referred cases with operational colleagues
  • Collaborate with other clinicians across the wider service area
Teaching, Training & Consultation:
  • Deliver training sessions to staff on therapeutic approaches and related topics
  • Provide cross-service consultation on child trauma, attachment, and recovery
Policy & Service Development:
  • Offer a therapeutic perspective in service planning and clinical meetings
  • Support service development projects based on identified therapeutic needs
  • Liaise with external agencies such as Local Authorities and the NHS
  • Keep up to date with research to inform and support evidence-based practice
  • Contribute to the use and development of clinical outcome measures
  • Where appropriate, support or initiate service-based research initiatives
Professional & Administrative Duties:
  • Engage in regular supervision and continuing professional development
  • Adhere to relevant ethical, professional, and organisational standards
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all areas of work
  • Be alert to and act on safeguarding concerns
  • Travel within the region as needed to carry out responsibilities
