Millfield Prep School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Counsellor to support the emotional wellbeing of our pupils and contribute to our inclusive, caring community.
In this vital role, you will provide one-to-one short-term counselling for pupils facing challenges such as bereavement, family stress or friendship difficulties, as well as time-limited support for those with ongoing mental health needs. You will maintain confidential records and assessments, liaise with staff, parents and external professionals, and play an active part in wellbeing initiatives across the school.
We are looking for someone who is empathetic, patient and resilient, with a counselling qualification recognised by BACP or UKCP, specific child and adolescent training, and experience working with young people. Accreditation (or working towards accreditation) with BACP or UKCP is essential.
Hours: 8–10 per week (term time only, flexible – to be agreed at interview). Please include your preferred working days and hours in your application.
