Counselling Lecturer

We are seeking a dedicated Sessional Counselling Lecturer to deliver the CPCAB Level 5 Counselling Children and Young People Diploma. This role involves leading theory discussions, assessing students' counselling skills, and regular marking of homework. You will also be responsible for signing off their final portfolios and ensuring learners are prepared for external assessments. Familiarity with a variety of counselling approaches will be advantageous for this role.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:- Deliver engaging and informative sessions on the CPCAB Level 5 Counselling Children and Young People Diploma.
- Lead theory discussions and assess students' counselling skills.
- Regularly mark homework and provide constructive feedback.
- Sign off on final portfolios and prepare learners for external assessments.
- Contribute to the achievement of the college's strategic goals, including embedding digital skills and personal and professional development into courses.
- Produce Schemes of Work and assessment plans to support learners in achieving their full potential.
- Deliver learning and undertake assessment using a broad range of methods.
- Guide and tutor learners through the learning process, ensuring positive progression outcomes.
- Be fully accountable for learners' success, utilizing data to evaluate and improve the quality of provision.
- Degree or equivalent vocationally relevant qualification.
- Relevant subject qualification to level 3, 4, 5, 6.
- Teaching qualification DTLLS or equivalent.
- GCSE grade A -C in English and Maths or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years' teaching experience up to and including Level 3, 4, 5, 6.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Broad range of ICT/ILT skills to deliver outstanding teaching.
- Experience in varied assessment and supervisory roles.
