Job summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced individual to join a service offering psychosocial interventions to young people aged 14-35, deemed to be at increased risk of developing psychosis.
Our 'At-Risk Mental State' service engages service users and their families with the aim of preventing or delaying their transition to psychosis.
The post holder will take a lead role in liaising with local agencies and education providers to offer individually tailored social interventions to users of the service. Therefore, the successful applicant will demonstrate an ability to engage young people with a creative and flexible approach.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual who is able to work independently and enthusiastically support the team by working together. Whilst on-the-job training will be provided, applicants should demonstrate an interest in working with people with psychosis.
Experience of working with people who have complex presentations and experience of CBT-informed interventions would be advantageous. You would receive regular supervision from a professionally qualified member of staff and would be encouraged to take up further training and development opportunities relevant to the post.
The ARMS team works countywide, so travel across the county is involved on a daily basis. The team work flexibly across different office bases and from home.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will also work alongside a Principal Clinical Psychologist, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, Community Mental Health worker and an Assistant Psychologist to provide specialist assessments and deliver both group CBT and family interventions across Northamptonshire. To also actively attend and participate in service meetings, training sessions, supervision and appraisals.
You will be a main point of contact for service users and carers in the team and will be required to monitor their mental state, progress and level of functioning and requesting feedback from families (training provided) to help identify early signs of transition to psychosis whilst delivering a range of recovery-focussed interventions. The post holder will be expected to feedback clinical impressions of service user activity an contact to the team as soon as possible to ensure the team are kept up to date and ongoing care can be reviewed as required.
The post holder will react pro-actively in cases of service user crisis and/or distress and ensure escalation of such matters to a registered professional to put in place immediate plans to resolve the situation as appropriate.
