Part time - term time only - 3 days a week - 19.15 hrs a week (8.45am - 4.30pm)
We are seeking a qualified and compassionate College Counsellor to join our Student Support team. The successful candidate will provide confidential counselling (within safeguarding guidelines) to individual students and small groups, supporting their emotional wellbeing and helping them to overcome barriers to learning. This post is term time only role. The preferred working days are Monday - Wednesday, but Thursday is a possibility.
The successful candidate with be required to maintain accurate and confidential records in line with College policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will hold a counselling qualification at level 4 or above and be a member of a professional body such as the BACP. They will have an excellent understanding of child protection and safeguarding. Experience of working with 16-19 year olds would be an advantage. Candidates will to ensure they have private supervision arranged outside of their college working hours.
An interest in supporting or teaching on our counselling courses would be an advantage.
The post attracts 22 days holiday plus bank holidays pro rata and is part of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
