Due to the expansion of the service we are looking to recruit a Clinical or Forensic Psychologist to work in our Medium Secure Service.

The role

We are looking to appoint a 0.8 to 1 WTE Clinical or Forensic Psychologist, who are HCPC registered and who has experience or an interest of working with complex and challenging patient groups.

Psychology is highly valued within the service and embedded within a multi-disciplinary approach. The post holder will be fully involved in the development, delivery and evaluation of a range of assessments and formulation-led interventions. You will be joining a motivated and supportive team with a variety of therapeutic knowledge, using approaches including CBT, Schema, CFT, LMV, DBT and trauma informed care in both 1:1 and group formats.

There will be opportunities for joint professional work and providing reflective practice, clinical supervision, support and training and we actively support innovation and research. You can expect to receive good support, reflective practice and supervision and will play a vital part in the promotion of this service.

Participation in continued professional development is encouraged, and divisional and charity wide CPD events are held frequently. Staff wellbeing is taken seriously, recognising the importance for practitioners to care for themselves when caring for others.

The Ward: Working Age Males (Hawkins ward)

This service is a new 15 bed male medium secure ward for the assessment and treatment of working age males with a diagnosis of mental illness, personality disorder or co-morbid conditions. Hawkins ward will be one of 4 medium secure working age wards as well as an older male ward, an ABI ward and a Deaf ward, all contained in a medium secure building with various treatment and recreational facilities. The Medium Secure Division also has a blended secure women's service and Deaf community houses.
