Are you an experienced band 6 or band 7 dietitian with previous experience in renal, diabetes or weight management and looking to work on an exciting new project? If so then an exciting opportunity has arisen on the Queen Elizabeth site at University Hospitals Birmingham.

The renal dietetic team has new funding for 15 months to provide an outpatient service to our post-transplant patients. The dietetic team are a well-respected and integral member of the renal team and in this post you will be working closely with nephrologists, transplant nurses and the renal transplant pharmacist.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated experienced renal dietitian to help develop and lead this new service at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. You will be part of a large friendly and supportive renal dietetic team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will help provide clinical leadership to the band 5 and student dietitians working within renal. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication and multidisciplinary team-working skills, a practical, forward-thinking approach to service development and evaluation, leadership skills and the ability to teach and support others. You will be supported in the role by the lead clinicians within the multidisciplinary teams and the dietetic leads.

You will work within a large friendly and highly skilled department and have numerous opportunities for professional and personal development.

  • - Evidence of relevant GCSE, NVQ, GNVQ, AS and A levels
  • - Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent
  • - Registration with HCPC
