Job summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Clinical Associate in Psychology to join our team. This post would be suitable for someone wishing to develop their skills in working with people with eating disorders and we welcome applications from those who trained in an Adult Mental Health setting. This post will be located at April House in Southampton and will also involve some remote working.
We are a supportive multi-disciplinary team that includes psychologists, nurses, psychiatrists, dietitians, psychological therapists, clinical associate in psychology, occupational therapists and support workers. We are committed to delivering high quality recovery focused care and offer a range of evidence-based interventions, including CBT-ED, DBT-BED, SSCM, MANTRA and psychodynamic psychotherapy. We are part of the FREED early intervention network and also work closely with families and carers.
This role offers exciting opportunities for direct clinical work, service development and multi-disciplinary team working. You will provide evidence-based psychological therapies to people experiencing a range of eating disorders, many of whom present with comorbid mental health difficulties. The role will involve delivering individual and group interventions, as well as some joint work with our day service staff.
Main duties of the job
We will provide you with the necessary training and supervision to deliver some of the core evidence-based interventions for eating disorders, including CBT-ED, group DBT for Binge Eating Disorder (DBT-BED) and Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM). Excellent training opportunities are also offered by the Trust, and there will be an opportunity to apply for the HEE funded 8-day Whole Team Training course.
