Do you have experience working with young people in challenging environments such as youth services, residential care, or the criminal justice system? Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children who need strong, stable role models?

Aspire People is currently recruiting on behalf of a fantastic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Wythenshawe, Manchester, seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Mentor. This is an ideal role for those looking to transition into the education sector and support students with additional needs and complex behaviours at the very first point of contact.

About the Role:

You will be working with students aged 11-16 who are no longer in mainstream education due to a range of needs, such as:

- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges

- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

- Explosive or highly challenging behaviour

- Looked After Children (LAC) backgrounds

- Trauma or adverse childhood experiences

You will:

- Provide 1:1 and small group support

- Help de-escalate and manage challenging behaviours in a calm, consistent way

- Act as a key adult and role model, helping students feel safe and supported

- Assist in re-engaging pupils with learning through relationship-building and routine

Who We're Looking For:

-Individuals with experience in youth offending teams, probation, prison services, secure units, residential care, or similar fields

- A calm, firm but nurturing approach

- The ability to build trust and connection with hard-to-reach pupils

- Resilience, reliability, and a genuine desire to improve young people's lives
