We are looking for a dynamic and adaptable Behaviour Mentors/Learning Support Assistant that will be able to support pupils on a daily basis in the classroom. Some of the pupils you will be supporting will have various SEND needs, experience of supporting different needs would be desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:-
Build positive relationships with students identified as needing behaviour support.

Deliver tailored interventions (1:1 and small group) focused on emotional regulation, social skills, and self-esteem.

Work collaboratively with class teachers to implement behaviour strategies and support behaviour plans.

Act as a role model, promoting high standards of behaviour and respect.

Monitor and track student progress, maintaining accurate records and reporting regularly to the relevant staff.

Provide crisis support and de-escalation where necessary, using restorative practices where appropriate.

Liaise with families, external agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to support student development.

Support reintegration plans for students returning from exclusion or extended absence.

Contribute to whole-school strategies on behaviour, wellbeing, and safeguarding.
Essential:

Experience working with children or young people in an educational or support setting.

Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and safeguarding practices.
-
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate effectively.

Resilience, patience, and a calm, reflective approach under pressure.
Desirable:
-
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Youth Work, Psychology).

Experience working with students with SEN, SEMH, or trauma-informed approaches.

Knowledge of restorative justice, Thrive, or similar frameworks.
