Job summary
Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (BSMHFT) invite applications from enthusiastic, innovative and resilient professionals to join our expanding Secure Care and Offender Health Services (SCOH) across the Trust, to the role of an Art Psychotherapist.
We are recruiting a permanent position at the CAMEO service, based at HMP Foston Hall, Derby - a personality disorder treatment service based within the prison estate for female service users who have complex needs.
You will be part of the Secure Care and Offender Health Team and trust wide Arts Psychotherapies Service. Across the trust in recent years, the provision of art, music and drama therapies has grown significantly, and we are proud to offer a career structure from entry-level to Consultant Art Psychotherapist. We have a network of arts psychotherapists located in Community Hubs, Secure Care and Offender Health, and Specialist Services. We welcome applications from motivated people interested in working with complex presentations, including personality disorders, who have the skill, knowledge and experience to balance clinical need with risk management. Main duties of the job
We are a diverse team who thrive on developing new opportunities and offering high quality, personalised and evidence-based interventions to people with complex and persistent mental health difficulties. We are looking to recruit people from a range of diverse backgrounds with an interest in working with, supporting and enhancing the lives of people who have experienced adverse life experiences, including trauma and neglect, and have a history of offending behaviour.
The service has identified resources supporting continuing professional development, including excellent multi-model supervision structures. The post holder will support the direct assessment, formulation and delivery of interventions to address the full range of complex forensic mental health problems. They will also produce risk assessments and behavioural management plans as a Lead Clinician and be key in providing psychologically informed advice and support for those directly involved in the care of the individual. They would also support training, supervision and evaluation of the delivery of individual behavioural management plans, risk management activity and service user involvement. The post holder will have experience in supervising others and be able to identify and co-ordinate the need for systemic support.
