Band 7 CBT Therapist or Clinical Psychologist

We have an exciting, full-time job opportunity for a psychological therapist who would enjoy working in a specialist secondary care service for people with bipolar disorder and related conditions. The role would suit either a clinical psychologist or a BABCP registered CBT therapist. The successful candidate would join our dedicated team of psychological practitioners delivering interventions to people with mood disorders which includes the Mood on Track programme, a group-based CBT programme, also individual CBT and family intervention. Interventions are offered online and face to face.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within secondary care mental health community services with either adults, older adults or young people. This experience may be prior to therapeutic training. The service provides intervention across the age range and is currently further developing the offer for young people.

Research and service evaluation is a core part of our service model and opportunities to be involved in this will be available subject to interest and experience. We are committed to staff development and there may be potential for further intervention training e.g. PGCert for CBT in Bipolar and Psychosis and Family Intervention Training.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will deliver Mood on Track group CBT plus an individual staying well intervention. They will engage in psychological assessments for the programme and specific interventions. They will also deliver individual CBT and Family Intervention following Mood on Track. We are a multidisciplinary team and work closely with other teams within the trust. Liaison with other teams and services is a key part of the role.

We work across the city, so there is an expectation to be able to travel to sites in different localities. You should have experience of working with service users with complex mental health and behavioural needs; additionally, to be familiar with the needs of a diverse BAME community and working in areas of high socioeconomic deprivation.

We will consider part-time workers and flexible working arrangements.
