Band 7 Drama / Music Therapist or Integrative Arts Psychotherapist - Ardenleigh, Secure Care and Offender Health
1x 0.8wte, part time maternity cover, 12-month fixed term
We are looking for a Drama/Music Therapist or Integrative Arts Therapist, with a passion for empowering others, working collaboratively, and are interested in working with diverse groups. You will work across both the Women's Secure Blended Service and the Secure CAMHS service, which are both located within Ardenleigh Hospital.
The Ardenleigh site hosts two services, both with an incredible national reputation. Both services have a strong multidisciplinary team ethos, in which the psychological therapies team is well established and respected. The teams work alongside several professionals, providing safe, containing environments and interventions to help people understand themselves, their mental health and offending behaviour. Innovation within the services is strongly encouraged.
Main duties of the job
This exciting role offers the suitable candidate opportunities to provide individual and group interventions to both adults and young people. You will join a large and diverse psychological therapies team, consisting of clinical and forensic psychologists, arts therapists, specialist psychological practitioners and assistant psychologists. The services are committed to providing the best care for women and young people, and as such service user involvement and co-production are central to what we do. Clinical supervision and line management is facilitated by experienced art psychotherapists. The successful applicant will have access to training and development opportunities and have the chance to develop their clinical skill set within a dynamic team in a busy NHS setting. As part of the role, you will regularly audit and evaluate the work undertaken, evidencing the effectiveness of interventions for people who struggle to engage with more verbal focused interventions.
We welcome candidates who are motivated, dynamic and forward thinking. We are a diverse team who thrive on developing new opportunities and offering high quality, personalised and evidence-based interventions to people with complex and persistent mental health difficulties, who have often experienced trauma.
