Job summary
We are looking for a 1.0 wte Assistant Psychologist to join our S-CAMHS service in Hywel Dda University Health Board.
It is a permanent role and will be based in Carmarthen.
The successful post holder will provide clinical work under the regular supervision of a clinical psychologist and there will be opportunities for peer reflective practice and training.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be based in Carmarthen but will work flexibly across the S-CAMHs services depending on the needs of the service at that time. Therefore, they are likely to work within teams such as the secondary locality teams, primary services and the Neurodevelopmental Team.
The S-CAMHS service uses the Choice and Partnership Approach as its model of service delivery and when working in secondary locality teams, the post-holder will be required to provide clinical sessions for Partnership work within the locality team, working with young people with a variety of mental health difficulties, and their families.
They will carry a clinical caseload and will be encouraged to develop skills in a range of psychological approaches (e.g. CBT, ACT, systemic). There will also be opportunities to assist with projects within Psychology in S-CAMHS.
