
Substance Misuse Recovery Practitioner
Job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available within the Inclusion substance misuse team at HMP Stocken. We are recruiting for a full time band 5 Substance Misuse Practitioner.
Come and join a busy vibrant team supporting men with recovery from substances at HMP Stocken. You will be working with a case load of men, supporting them through psychosocial treatment for their substance misuse.
HMP Stocken is a male Cat C prison and the Inclusion SMS team support the population by offering support for drug/alcohol issues.
You would be joining a busy, established team who would support you in your new role. This is an energetic role for an individual who is passionate about providing good quality substance misuse support within a busy and rewarding environment. The variety of the role will keep things fresh and stimulating whilst being part of a supportive team with effective management providing supervision and guidance.
Main duties of the job
As part of the Inclusion Substance Misuse Team you would hold a case load of service users and appropriately manage your time to support their pathway through treatment, building care plans to support the service users throughout their journey.
Your main duties will include completing assessments and care planning, 1:1 structured work, delivering group interventions, supporting men through detox, comprehensive case notes, report writing and supporting men to achieve their care plan targets.

- To work within an integrated team delivering psycho-social interventions to service users presenting with substance misuse issues, including alcohol
- To participate in activities designed to enhance the service such as clinical supervision and P.D.C. reviews, needs analysis, service user forums, increasing personal knowledge and remaining up to date with training

- NVQ 3 Health & Social Care (or commitment to work towards) And/Or Relevant experience in comparable setting.
Desirable
- Relevant training / Qualification in associated field such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Brief solution focussed therapy, Mapping techniques, Auricular acupuncture trained
