We are advertising 2 Assistant Psychology posts to work within our Forensic CAMHs teams. Both roles have different focus of roles and responsibilities, and you are welcome to apply for one or both by indicating this on the form or at interview.
The Youth Justice Liaison and Diversion Team work with children and young people that are involved in offending behaviour or suspected of a criminal offence.
The forensic child and adolescent mental health service (fCAMHS) is a regional specialist service set up to work with young people under 18 in contact with the criminal justice system, or with those that are presenting serious risk of harm to others.
The role is within FCAMHS will support with the delivery of a clinical trial for MBT which is just starting, and also with general support to the FCAMHS team alongside the existing Assistant role. This role is fixed term 16 months. Liaison & Diversion is Permanent, on a part time basis.
We are looking for a motivated Assistant Psychologist to help our service delivery and support our ongoing development and the vital work our teams do across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
Both services already have strong links with other teams across CAMHS, within children's social care, youth justice, education and the voluntary and community sector and there will be opportunities to learn about and be get involved in some way in these teams if desired.
Main duties of the job
Liaison & Diversion:
Triaging, liaising, supporting assessments, completing risk assessments and completing assessments. This includes onward signposting, attending multi-agency meetings and liaising with professionals.The role includes: completing neurodiversity questionnaires and supporting young people in custody through in-person or remote screenings and working with adult L&D colleagues in custody. The role also includes 1:1 CBT-informed sessions under supervision of a clinical psychologist.
A significant part of the role is to support the service in collection of data, create reports and assist in the development of service evaluation with service users and stakeholder professionals as part of this evaluation.
FCAMHS:
Some of the time will be supporting the research trial - supporting the allocation and processing of the input, supporting with the trial data collection, outcome measures and with the treatment as usual. We offer consultations to a number of agencies as well as assessment and intervention.
The role will include contributing to, and writing up, multi-agency consultation and specialist assessments, supporting the clinicians in service development and supporting the collation of outcome data for research and service evaluation.
The service works closely with other agencies such as social care and youth justice teams and offers training to these professionals.
The roles require flexibility in working location and travel to sites.
