Support people through alcohol, drug or behavioural addictions in 1:1 and group settings. The role requires a compassionate, non judgmental approach and focuses on motivational interviewing, group facilitation and safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct one to one counselling sessions with individuals experiencing addiction.
- Facilitate group sessions that support recovery and build peer support.
- Use motivational interviewing techniques to encourage behaviour change.
- Carry out safeguarding assessments and create a safe environment for clients.
- Maintain accurate case records and comply with professional standards.
- Accredited diploma in addiction counselling or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant work experience or evidence of training (e.g., short courses, shadowing).
1-3 years of experience in a supportive or therapeutic role, or a proven track record in counselling or facilitation, is desirable. Key skills include emotional resilience, strong communication, problem solving, and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
